Mrs. Doyle was born November 23, 1926 in Appling County, GA to the late Ezra Estese Butler and Clara Maybell McNeal Butler. She was an active member of Centralhatchee First Baptist Church.

She was a registered nurse by trade, and worked in her native South Georgia until moving to Smyrna.

In 1973 she and her husband purchased what would become their permanent home place on Eley Road in Heard County.

She always had a servant’s heart when it came to children growing up under difficult circumstances. When she moved to Heard County she brought four children with her that she raised as her own.

After moving to Heard County she continued to house and feed children for working parents. Many of the kids in the local area have precious memories of “Miss Doyle” and her unconditional love for everyone.

She loved to cook for everyone in the home. Among the foods she was famous for were her cornbread dressing and fried okra. She also cooked Mexican cuisine for her kids, and made her own salsa.

One of her passions was traveling. She owned several motor homes during the years, which allowed her to visit every state except Hawaii.

Everywhere she went she made memories that lasted a lifetime and she met countless people from every corner of our great nation.

Survivors include three children, Lane Burnett (H. C.) of Marietta, Judy Wehunt (Sam) of Marietta, and Shirley Adams (Jonathan) of Franklin; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margie Cook and Merese Gibson; and a host of children she considered her own who received love and affection.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Albert Doyle, and a son, Estese Shipes.

Those who wish may write memorial tributes at
