Mrs. Betty Hoopaugh

Mrs. Betty Jean Lewis Varnadoe Hoopaugh, age 74 of Franklin, Georgia passed away at the Piedmont Newnan Hospital on Thursday January 3, 2013.

A Home Going Service was conducted on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. from the Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Lynn Janney officiating. Mrs. Hoopaugh’s husband, Ken Hoopaugh offered a loving tribute to his wife, and her beloved church choir presented music. The interment will follow at a later date in the Varnadoe Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Hoopaugh was born in Sylvania, Georgia on December 3, 1938, the daughter of the late Stephen Lewis and Mildred Crews Lewis. She was a faithful member of the Ridgeway Baptist Church where she especially loved to hear the church choir sing. She retired from Bell South where she served as a Computer Program Writer.

After retirement “Miss Betty” enjoyed be a homemaker and doing beautiful cross stitch. Her handy work is displayed proudly all over her home. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Ken Hoopaugh of Franklin, GA.; son, David Varnadoe of Cumming, GA.; and two grandchildren, Ryan Varnadoe of Dawsonville, GA., and Riley Varnadoe of Cumming, GA.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Joe Varnadoe and beloved son Steve Varnadoe.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Ridgeway Baptist Church, 211 Red Oak Road, Franklin, Georgia 30217.

The Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
