Mrs. Charlotte Ann Rogers Hester

Mrs. Charlotte Ann Rogers Hester, age 83 of Carrollton, passed away Sunday, August 03, 2014.

She was born November 26, 1930 in Carroll County, to the late Rev. Guy L. Rogers and Mrs. Vesta Leona Kent Rogers.

She received a six year degree in education from the University of West Georgia and worked for the Carroll County, Carrollton City School Systems and West Georgia RESA as a beloved educator for 34 years.

After her retirement, she and her husband, co-owned Precious Memories Antiques.  She was an active member of Peachtree Baptist Church and taught a variety of Sunday school classes. She was the founding member of the Voices of Faith singing group.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Kent Rogers.

Survivors include her husband, George Carey Hester; son and daughter in law, Steve and Marcia Hester of Carrollton; daughter and son in law, Cherie and Larry Rogers of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Kevin Cooke (Crystal), Kelly Hester, and Jordan Hester; and step-grandchildren, Scoot Rogers (Jennifer) and Scott Rogers; two great-granddaughters, Ella Kate Cooke and Sadie Charlotte Cooke; and two step-great-grandchildren, Reid Rogers and Wes Rogers; brother and sister in law, Luther and Betty Rogers of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Sara Cutler of Charleston, SC; and brother and sister in law, Raymon and Janie Rogers of Rockledge, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 05, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel.

Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, August 06, 2014 at 4:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Doug Rogers and Rev. Adam Teal officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Garden with Rev. Damon Smith conducting graveside service.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Cooke, Jordan Hester, Lance Rogers, Dr. Brian Rogers, Gerald Barnes, and Frank Haddock.

Flowers are accepted but donations can be made to Peachtree Baptist Church Building Fund at 106 Oakmont Court, Carrollton, GA 30116.
