Mrs. Doris Franklin

Mrs. Mary Doris Bledsoe Franklin, age 86 of Molena, Georgia, formerly of Carrollton, Georgia passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 23, 2011.

Funeral services for Mrs. Franklin will be conducted Friday, August 26, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. from the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, Georgia, with the Reverend Claude Turner officiating. The interment will follow in the Prospect Church Cemetery.

The family will receive guests at the funeral home Thursday evening, August 25, 2011 from 6-8 P.M.
Mrs. Franklin was born in Carrollton, Georgia on January 21, 1925, the daughter of the late James Frank Cooley and Sally Tom Fletcher Cooley. For a short time in her life she used her creative side, as a “Hat Haberdasher”.

She was a Licensed Practical Nurse by profession, but spent her adult life in the care of her family. The joy of her life was seeing them loved and well cared for.

She was a member of the Cross Plains Church in Carrollton, Georgia, but enjoyed attending her children’s churches when she was with them. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by three daughters, Sally (Mike) Smith of Molena, GA., Regina (Ted) Spears of Jackson, GA., and Kathy Barton of Franklin, GA.; one son, Dr. Tom (Donna) Bledsoe of Ranger, GA.; one sister Betty Adams of Carrollton, GA., fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Frank Cooley and Sally Fletcher Cooley; two husbands, Johnson Dalton “J.D.” Bledsoe and Arnold Kenneth Franklin, Sr.; and one son-in-law, Timmy Barton.
