Mrs. Doris Rucker

Mrs. Doris Sutton Rucker, Lexington, South Carolina, age 81 passed away at the LaGrange Hospice in LaGrange, Georgia on Friday, July 27.

Funeral services and interment for Mrs. Rucker will be conducted on Monday, July 30, at 3:00 P.M. from the Beulah United Methodist Church in Gilbert, S. C. with the Rev. Robert Dunn officiating. The family will receive guests at the church one hour prior to service time.

Mrs. Rucker was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on May 30, 1931, the daughter of the late Erma Mae McLay Sutton and Byron Sutton.

Until the decline of Mrs. Rucker’s health she was an active member of the Beulah United Methodist Church in Gilbert, South Carolina, and a popular employee at the K-mart in Lexington, South Carolina.

Her warm smile and helpful nature made her a favorite among both customers and fellow employees. “Miss. Doris” was a huge sports enthusiast, especially the Pittsburg Steelers and the South Carolina Gamecocks. She also loved watching game shows.

Recently she moved to Franklin, Georgia with her daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Wayne Hall. In her brief time here she enjoyed attending Franklin First Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Wayne Hall of Franklin, GA., son, Toby Rucker of Lexington, S. C., and grandchildren, Todd and Valori Hall of Newnan, GA., Holly and Jared Osterhage also of Newnan, GA., and Damian Rucker of Lexington, GA.; and six great-grandchildren.

The Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Ga., and Caughman Harman Funeral Home of Lexington, S. C. are in charge of arrangements.
