Mrs. Massie was born August 19, 1933 to the late T. C. Burnett and Stella Bates Burnett.

One of her favorite pastimes was tending to her garden. Among her favorite flowers were irises, peace lilies, and gladiolas. She dedicated her life to caring for the home. Nothing gave her greater joy than to have the family gathered around the table for a home cooked meal.

She held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and dearly loved her extended family of nieces and nephews.
