Mrs. Dovie Lou Ware Philpot

Mrs. Dovie Lou Ware Philpot passed away Friday.

She was born Jan. 23, 1934, to the late Rev. Robert and Mrs. Caroline Ware in Heard County, Georgia.

Dovie attended Midway School; and united with Ebenezer Baptist Church. She retired from Private Line Manufacturing Company. She was a very hard and dedicated worker.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late, Garland Philpot.

Dovie, known by many as, “Dov” and “Pie Lady” was well known for her smile, laughter, joyfulness, and those old-fashioned fried apple pies and coconut cakes.

She was a very spirit filled lady who was willing to give a helping hand, food, clothes wherever there was a need. She enjoyed watching and listening to her favorite gospel tv and radio programs, “Up All Night with Jake Sessions”, “Glory to God”, and “Ora Bell Clark.”

On Friday, October 13, 2017, at Mrs. Dovie Lou Ware Philpot entered into Eternal Rest at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Alex Philpot; siblings, Bobby Ware, Mary Morgan, and Minister Carrie Darden.

Survivors include three daughters, Floristine Ware, Franklin; Cheryl (Daniel) Strozier, LaGrange; Leslie Philpot, Franklin; four grandchildren; siblings, Rev. James R. Ware, LaGrange; Fannie (W. C.) Crump, Atlanta; John (Pauline) Ware, Decatur; special nieces, cousins and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Franklin.
