Mrs. Evelyn Blankenship

Mrs. Evelyn Mae Howe Blankenship, age 78, of Franklin passed away October 29, 2020.

She was born October 28, 1942 in Three Rivers, Michigan to the late William Robert Howe and Minnie Jane Shyer Howe.

She attended Providence Baptist Church, where she was a member for the last 15 years.

Among her favorite pastimes were crocheting and sewing. She also enjoyed working outdoors each year maintaining her yard and garden.

Holidays always held precious memories for her. She especially loved baking delicious treats for friends and family. She was most well known for her rum cakes.

Spending time with family was the best part of each holiday season. She was affectionately known as “Mean Granny”, and everybody loved her hugs.

Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Pass of Griffin, Tracy McGouirk (Keith) of Griffin, and Claudia Turner (Larry) of Franklin; one son, Theo Blankenship (Christina) of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Michael Pass (April), Allen McGouirk (Amy), Christopher McGouirk, Ariel Pass, Maggie Clifton (Blake), Carl Blankenship, Gabriel Blankenship, and Daniel Paul Blankenship; one great-grandson, Allen McGouirk, Jr (“Doodlebug”); three sisters, Janet Wegrif, Lorreta West, and Carol Louiselle; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Blankenship; one sister, Roberta Millard; and one brother, Richard Howe.

No public service is planned.
