Mrs. Evelyn Clifton

Mrs. Willie Evelyn Parris Clifton, age 82, of Franklin passed away December 17, 2020.

Her funeral services will be held Sunday December 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Robertson and Jerry W. Denney officiating.

Interment will follow in Mounger Cemetery (Calhoun County, AL).

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Mrs. Clifton was born January 24, 1938 in Calhoun County, AL to the late Floyd Andrew Parris and Maggie Velma Ward Parris. She was a member of Gray Hill Church of God.

She retired from Woodland High School after fifteen years of service, where she worked in the cafeteria.

Among her favorite pastimes was solving word puzzles. She was also an avid reader. Her favorite book was the Bible, and she read it often.

She was a loving mother and grandmother whose most precious moments were spent visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include one daughter, Trisha Robertson (Steve) of Lineville, AL; one son, Larry Clifton (Donna) of Roopville; three grandchildren, Alex Nelson, Brittany Steed (Cody), and Brandon Clifton; one great-grandchild, Bryson Steed; one brother, Daniel Parris of Franklin; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior J. Clifton, and two sisters: Doris Fortenberry and Pluma Fortenberry.
