Mrs. Imogene Dixon Hammett

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Imogene Dixon Hammett will be Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Noon at the Leete Hill United Methodist Church on Hamilton Road. Pastor James Woods will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Hammett, a native of Heard County, was born July 15, 1932 and was he youngest child of seven born to the late Reuben and Sophia Dixon.

She joined he Canaan Baptist Church early in her life and served faithfully for eighty years. Later she united with Leete Hill United Methodist Church. She was retired from the Dietary Department of West Georgia Medical Center as supervisor for 42 years.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four sons: Willie Hammett, Joe (Josephine) Hammett, James (Pamble) Hammett, Robert (Gladys) Hammett, all of LaGrange; special nephews: John Dixon and David Dixon; eleven grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Hammett; four brothers: Enoch Dixon, J. B. Dixon, Charlie F. Dixon, Willie Dixon; and two sisters: Amber Dixon and Judy Garmany.

The family will be at their home at 615 Smoot Street.
