Mrs. Janice Ione Costley, 75, of LaGrange, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at her son’s home.
Mrs. Costley was born April 30, 1939 in Centralhatchee, Ga., the daughter of the late Awbrey Nutt and Ione Stevens Nutt. She was retired from the Live Oak Plant of Milliken Mills as an inspector for well over twenty five years, and was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church, where she had taught Sunday School. She loved working outside in her garden and planting flowers and countless days of yard work. She had also worked at Belk’s for a number of years.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Wanda Costley of LaGrange, Bruce and Lisa Costley of Sanford, Fl., Rodney and Gina Costley of LaGrange, eight grandchildren, Mathew and Rhiannon Costley, Amber Costley, Logan Costley, Lauren Costley, all of LaGrange, Brandon Costley and Justin Costley of Oklahoma City, Ok., and Caitlin and Jessica Costley of Sandford, Fl., great grandchildren, Chloe and Carter Costley, sisters and brothers, Gayla and Jack Jones of LaGrange, Lynn and Terry Baker of LaGrange, Steve and Frankie Nutt of Chattanooga, TN., Special friends, Lisa and Alexa Rogers, Neil Brooks, Norma Carson, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Costley Jr., and her parents, Awbrey and ione Nutt, 2 sisters, Brenda Winkles and Sue Davis.
Visitation will be from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home, LaGrange. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 pm , at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with Rev. Steve Nutt and Rev. S. T. Janney officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.
The family will also receive friends at Mrs. Costley’s home until services are held.
