Mrs. McAteer was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 23, 1933, the daughter of the late Eva Christine Grantham Gunn and Junie Jarron James.
After the early death of her father her mother remarried a dear man, the late, Norman R. Gunn who became her daddy. She was a Christian by faith.
