Mrs. Jeanette Williams

Mrs. Jeanette Marie Neighbors Williams, age 79, of Douglasville passed away October 20, 2021.

Her funeral will be held Monday October 25, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Monday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM prior to the service.

Mrs. Williams was born January 13, 1942 in Heard County to the late Lonnie Ben Neighbors and Alma Crockett Neighbors. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Douglasville.

She loved to talk to people. She was known to strike up a conversation with anyone she met, even while shopping in the grocery store. Her personality suited her well as a waitress for Waffle House, for whom she worked in a number of restaurants in the Atlanta Metro Area.

Among her favorite pastimes were sewing and crocheting. She liked to watch the Food Network, and one of her favorite TV shows was The Golden Girls. She loved to play BINGO, and was known to have a spread of cards at her table every time she played.

Her most precious moments were spent with her family, and she held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: one daughter, Paula Norwood Lee; one son, Richard Norwood, both of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren: Scott Norwood, Heather Norwood, Ashely Bishop (Eric), and Savannah Norwood; great-grandchildren: Castiel, Thea, Kevin, and Tori; two sisters, Ruth Jackson and Grace Purvis; sister-in-law, Jackie Neighbors; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Eddie” Williams, and two brothers, Glen Neighbors and Harvey Neighbors.
