Mrs. Kay Ellen Oliver

ThumbnailMrs. Kay Ellen Oliver, age 64, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born December 29, 1951 in Franklin, Georgia, the daughter of the late James Noah Rogers and the late Myric Barker Rogers.

She was a dedicated and much loved employee with Carroll County Superior Court for more than fifteen years, and was a faithful member of Bethesda Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. “Bob” Oliver.

Survivors include her daughter, Kelly & Mike Green of Carrollton, GA; and step-sons, Tim & Susan Oliver of Carrollton, GA, Dan & Joyce Oliver of Marietta, GA, and sisters and brothers-in-law: Lou & Richard Todd of Roopville, GA, and Susan & Ronnie Lee of Carrollton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ray & Syble Rogers of Woodland, AL, Mark & Brenda Rogers of Bowdon, GA, Tim & Glenda Rogers of Roopville, GA; grandchildren, Kathryn & Brandon Tubandt and Robyn Oliver; great grandchild, Caroline Claire Tubandt; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ellen was loved by all who knew her. She had such a tender, loving, and generous heart. A source of immense joy for her was giving to others and sharing all that she had. Not only was she a soft place to land for anyone sad, hurting, or just in need of a listening ear, but she also had a wonderful sense of humor she used frequently to cheer and uplift anyone in need of a smile or a good laugh.

She had a beautiful smile of her own. Ellen was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, mother, wife, and friend to many. She was a most wonderful mother – kind, tender, selfless, and so very loving.

Ellen not only had a deep love for people but for all of God’s creation – animals, flowers, and the beauty of nature. She loved to cook and more than that she enjoyed sharing her delicious dishes with all. She spelled love, f-o-o-d!

Unknown to some, she was a talented pianist and had the voice of an angel. Ellen used this gift to provide piano music for many years for her for childhood church, Ephesus Baptist Church in Heard County, Georgia. This church played a vital role in shaping her and nurturing her Christian faith. For this, she was so grateful.

Ellen was just simply a wonderful woman of faith – an example of Christ’s love. She loved easily and was loved by so many – she will be greatly missed.
