Mrs. Lela Ridley Person

2660802Mrs. Lela Ridley Person, born in Heard County, Georgia on April 10, 1912, was the daughter of Andrew Byrd and Mattie Jones Ridley. She was the second of three children, one brother, Elbert; and one sister, Ruthie.

She made a beautiful transition, Thursday, August 28, 2014 around 4:00 PM. Great memories abide in the hearts of many people. Whe was a great assistant to so many people around the world.

She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. During the beginning of her adult life, she taught school at Union Grove and Choncord of Heard County.

After retiring, she was also blessed to substitute teach at the school where her children were attending, Mary Johnson High School in Franlin, Georgia.

She was married to Mr. Ammie Person and was blessed with four loving and caring children:  Joyce, Ridley, Floyce, and Cloyce.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ammie; her only son, Ridley; one grandson, Garry Lenard; and two great-granddaughters:  Jada and Paige. These five loving people will always be remembered and loved from the depths of our hearts.

Those left to cherish her beautiful memories are her three daughters, Carolyn Joyce, Atlanta, GA; Floyce Kilby, Newnan, GA; and Cloyce Tucker, Franklin, GA; one son-in-law, Jimmy Kilby, Newnan, GA; ten grandchildren:  Jimmy LeChan (Rosalind) Kilby, Micolean Martinez, Maria Martinez, and Lolita Martinez, all of Newnan, GA; Arthez (Marilyn) Woodruff, LaGrange, GA; Ronnie Person, Terrance Person, Norissa Kendrix, Andre Person, and Jameka Tucker, all of Franklin, GA; one god-daughter, Rosalyn (Donnie) Farmer and one god-granddaugther, Donyell, all of Carrollton, GA; 38 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren; several wonderful nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Franklin, Georgia. Pastor Grady Woodruff will officiate. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.

Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home of Lagrange is in charge of the arrangements.
