Mrs. Lillian Adams

Adams obit

Mrs. Lillian Clara Ridley Adams, age 86, of Franklin passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2014 at Reliance Hospice in Griffin, GA.

Funeral services for Mrs. Adams were conducted on Sunday December 28, at 2:00 PM at Olive Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. John Bradley and Dr. Sam Newman officiating.

A loving tribute was offered by Mrs. Adams daughter, Melanie Adams Maxwell.

Those serving as pallbearers were Corey Butzon, Josh Steber, A.J. Poole, and Benji Hyatt. The interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Adams was born April 11, 1928 in Heard County, GA, the daughter of the late Arthur Broomfield Ridley and Mary Ann Brett.  She was the owner and operator of “Lillian’s Kut & Kurl.” It was always a treat to visit Mrs. Lillian and have a beautiful new hairdo when you left.

Her artistic talents went far beyond hair designing to encompass beautiful needlework in both cross stich and crocheting. Those who have been fortunate enough to inherit one of her creations have a treasured piece of artwork.

In her earlier years she was very active in her daughter’s life, hosting wonderful events which were always a treat for all those who attended. She was very proud of her family and all their accomplishments.

Until her health began to fail she was a faithful member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. She will long be remembered by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. C. B. Adams.

Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Mike Maxwell of Fayetteville, GA; three granddaughters; April Butzon (Corey) of Franklin; Erin Steber (Josh) of Smyrna, GA; and Carrie Maxwell of Bowdon; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette Ridley Hallbeck of Rochester, Minnesota; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Olive Branch Baptist Church.
