Mrs. Lorene Adams Jackson

Mrs. Lorene Adams Jackson, age 93 of LaGrange, Georgia, formerly of Heard County passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Florence Hand Nursing Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jackson were conducted on Saturday, October 29, 2011 from the Centralhatchee Baptist Church in Franklin, Georgia with the Reverend Quinnion Duncan officiating.

Music was provided by Jean Duke and Rita Loftin. Those serving as pallbearers were Harry Adams, Walt Wiggins, Todd Turner, Jimmy Charles Thomaston, Ronnie Brown, and Ross Crockett. The interment followed in the Welcome United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Jackson was born in Centralhatchee, Georgia on April 26, 1918, the daughter of the late Tonnie Adams and Mary Hyatt Adams. She was a life time member of the Centralhatchee Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jackson retired from the Milliken Company from which she had served for over forty years. Her tremendous work ethic was a credit to her character.

Even though she worked many long hours she never failed to care for her family’s needs. When her mother became disabled she cared for her with great care and love. Mrs. Lorene was known far and wide as an exceptional cook, especially her Coconut Cakes.

Her beautiful crochet pieces were a treasure to all who became a lucky recipient of her craftsmanship. She was a woman of great conviction and never failed to stand for what she believed. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jerrell and Raymon Vaughan; one granddaughter, Sonyia Kitchens; one grandson, Terry Vaughan; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Christopher Vaughan; and three great-great-grandchildren, Colton, Caden, Bentley Vaughan all of LaGrange, Georgia.
