Mrs. Strickland was born December 31, 1944 in Henry County, Alabama to the late William Stancil Snellgrove and Mary Ester Bradley Snellgrove. She was a Baptist by faith, and loved her Lord with all of her heart, soul, and strength.

Nothing gave her more joy than to have everyone over for a home-cooked meal with her famous homemade biscuits. Christmas was her favorite time of the year, when she could have everyone gathered together.

She dearly loved her family and was always willing to give her children advice on any pressing issue they had.

In her free time, she loved to watch TV. She enjoyed music shows and NASCAR racing. Her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. Her drink of choice was coffee. Sometimes she would drink it all day long.
