Mrs. Marguerite Stewart

Mrs. Daisy Marguerite Cassel Stewart, age 89 of Roopville, Georgia passed away at the Tanner Health               Care Center in Carrollton, Georgia on Tuesday, December 03, 2013.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stewart were conducted on Saturday, December 7, 2013, 2:00 P.M. from the Tom Stutts and son Funeral Home in Franklin, Georgia with the Reverend Jim Elliot officiating. Music was provided by Leesa Stutts-Cothran. The interment followed in the Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, Georgia.

Mrs. Stewart was born in Hogansville, Georgia on September 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Esther Mae Shirey Cassel and Roy Cassel. She was retired from the United States Department of Revenue where she served as an auditor. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Centralhatchee. Even though she and her husband never had any children of their own they loved all of their nieces and nephews and were wonderful supporters to all of them.

After the death of her beloved husband John Clifton “J. C.” Stewart, Mrs. Marguerite and her sister Maxine joined their households and were much company to each other in their latter years. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by two sisters, Maelene Powell (Robert) of Kennesaw, GA., and Maxine Cassel of Roopville, GA.; and a host of adoring nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband J. C. Stewart; parents, Esther and Roy Cassel; and brother, Travis Cassel.
