Mrs. Martha Jean Buchanan

Mrs. Martha Jean Dean Buchanan, age67 of Franklin, Georgia passed away at her home on Thursday, March 01, 2012.

Funeral services for Mrs. Buchanan were conducted on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. from the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Roger Wilhoite.

The interment followed in the Franklin City Cemetery. Music was provided by Tom Lipham, Juanita Shelnutt, and Danny McCormick. Those serving as pallbearers were Cain Dean, Billy Wayne Dean, Bryan Daniel, David Daniel, Tony Cannon, and Handley Hughey.

Mrs. Buchanan was born in Franklin, Georgia on August 6, 1944, the daughter of the late Melvin Dean and Bonell Shelnutt Dean. She was a member of the Cabin Creek Baptist Church. She held many different jobs in her lifetime.

She loved growing flowers, and always had a wonderful hot meal ready for her family when they came in from their day’s activities. “Mrs. Martha Jean” had a wonderful personality, and always brightened any room she entered with her witty way and ready chuckle! She was a wonderful wife and mother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis Buchanan of Franklin, GA.; one daughter Darlene Daniel of Sparta, TN.; one son, Andy Buchanan (Ann) of LaGrange, GA.; four grandchildren; and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Timmy Buchanan.

Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
