Mrs. Maudie C. Rogers

Mrs. Maudie C. Rogers, 88, of Franklin, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015, at Ansley Park Rehabilitation Center in Newnan.

Mrs. Rogers was born June 25, 1927, in Whitesburg, daughter of the late Walter and Mandy Stitcher Cook.  She lived in Troup County for many years and was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her children, Shirley Boyd of Hogansville, Jim Cheatwood and his wife, Dianne of Grantville, Nancy Guest and her husband, Greg of Newnan, and Wanda Payton of Villa Rica;  sister, Marie Gallagher of New Market, TN; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sons, James Lamar Cheatwood and Jerry Marvin Cheatwood; and grandson, James Lamar (Bo) Cheatwood.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.

The Reverend Neil Awbrey and the Reverend Stan Rogers will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Saturday night.
