Mrs. Mozelle Forbus

Mrs. Mozelle Street Forbus, age 89 of Newnan, Georgia, formerly of Franklin, Georgia passed away at the Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Georgia on Saturday, December 17, 2011.

Funeral services for Mrs. Forbus were conducted Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from the Olive Branch Baptist Church with the Reverend David Huckaba officiating.

Music was provided by Alecia Runnels. A reading was done by friend, Christie Slauson.

Those serving as pallbearers were Eric Slauson, Donny Shelnutt, Kevin Forbus, Keith Forbus, Justin Willingham, and Timmy Powell. The interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Forbus was born in Heard County, Georgia on September 13, 1922, the daughter of the late Mary Potts Street and Mack Street. “Mrs. Mozelle” was a woman who had a great capacity to love others.

She devoted the greater part of her life caring for not only her own children but many area children as well. She provided a home for each little one filled with joy and love.

The impact she made in each of them will remain with them thru their lives. When she was not caring for children, she was ministering to someone with her wonderful cooking, which she had many times grown in her own garden.

She was never idle and believed in hard work. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by three daughters, Ruby Pate (Donald) of Allenhurst, GA., Debra Richardson (Marion Brown)of Newnan, GA, and Kathy Slauson (Eric) of LaGrange, GA; one sister, Jean Brand of LaGrange, GA.; one brother, M. L. Street also of LaGrange, GA.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Leonard Forbus; two dear sons, Arthur and Larry Forbus; and sister, Geneva Yates.

Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home of Franklin, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.

      She was avery special lady, and baby sat for me several years and never thought her great grandaughter would be married to my son. I know she adored all of her grand children, great grandchildren, and great great grand children. I know she will be missed by every one who knew her.

    For many years I have been searching for Mozelle Forbus from Tupelo Mississippi. I never found her but was so lucky I came upon this Mozelle Forbus. She was so kind and helpful. She touched my heart even though I only spoke a few times many years ago. God will reward her for her kindness. my deepest sympathy to the family and friends.
