Myric B. Rogers, age 89 of Ephesus, GA, passed away Saturday, July 06, 2014. She was born January 23, 1925 in Heard County to the late James Jefferson Barker and Eva Fincher Barker.
She worked in the Ephesus Elementary cafeteria for 12 years and later worked 12 years with the Bremen Bowdon Investment Company. She was a faithful member of Ephesus Baptist Church on Hwy 100.
Mrs. Rogers enjoyed quilting and was a long-standing member of the Ephesus Quilting Ladies. She had a life-long love of flowers and was an avid gardener, spending countless hours nurturing and tending to her flower beds. She was a loving and generous mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Noah Rogers; sisters, Nora Huddleston, Myra Joyner and Glyness Schima; and brother, Arnell Barker.
Survivors include her children, Ray and Syble Rogers of Woodland, AL, Emmie Lou and Richard Todd of Roopville, Ellen and Bob Oliver of Carrollton, Mark and Brenda Rogers of Ephesus, Susan and Ronnie Lee of Carrollton, and Timothy and Glenda Rogers of Ephesus; sisters, Clemmie Akin of Holly Springs, MS, Lenedia Paschal of Virginia Beach, VA, Margean Baker of Yemassee, SC, and June Rosini of Powhatan, VA; brother, Quinion Barker of Bremen; twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, July 08, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Ephesus Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Morris and Rev. Fred Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 07, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel and she will lie in state from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at Ephesus Baptist Church.
