Mrs. Peggy Rogers

Mrs. Peggy Mae Stone Rogers, age 81, of LaGrange passed away Tuesday April 17, 2018.

Mrs. Rogers was born March 4, 1937 in Fort Valley, GA to the late William Claude Stone and Ida Mae Barnes Stone. She was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church.

She dedicated her working life to one of the noblest professions, that of a nurse. She worked for 44 years in various hospitals and nursing homes. She began her career in LaGrange City-County Hospital. She later served the defense department as a nurse, following her husband, who was in the military.

The final facility she served was Bluntstown Retirement Center in Florida, where she was both a nurse and a resident at the same time. As a patient, she never lost her nursing skill, and would correct young nurses on their technique when she thought they could do better.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, quilting and crocheting.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Hogalin (Gary) of Utah; four sons, Dennis James Rogers (Jeannette) of South Carolina, Wendell Dean Rogers (Joanne) of LaGrange, Larry Rogers of LaGrange, and William Joseph Key (Teresa) of California; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.

No services are planned at this time.

Those who wish may write memorial tributes at
