Mrs. Haney was born September 18, 1944 in Hiawassee, GA to the late Theodore Woodrow Dailey and Dorothy Aileen Stamey Dailey.

For many years she was one of the smiling faces behind the counter at Buddy’s Restaurant. She cooked countless delicious meals for the many patrons who came to eat biscuits, sausage, bacon, and eggs for breakfast and fried chicken, roast beef, meat loaf, and vegetables for lunch.

She also loved to cook at home for her family, and enjoyed every minute she could have everyone at home for a hot meal for Sunday dinner.

She loved to listen to music. Her late husband, Ken, had many friends who played bluegrass and she attended many festivals and jam sessions with local musicians. Her son, Kenny, became a virtuoso banjo player, and she especially enjoyed listening to him pick the five string.

In her free time she liked to sit on her front porch and talk to anyone who was willing to listen and show them her beautiful flower garden that she was proud of.

She was a loving woman who always had a kind word to say. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Haney (Doc Gray) of Roopville and Anita Cline (Danny) of Kentucky; one son, Kenny Haney of Roopville; four grandchildren, Ricky Pope, Jamie Browning, Ryan Haney, and Krystal Shelnutt, seven great-grandchildren, Lily Haney, Ryan Haney, Jr., Erik Pope, Axle Shelnutt, Stephen James Browning, Kalixandria Browning, and Jaimelyn Browning; a special friend, Wanda Haney; and a number of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert McKinley “Ken” Haney, a daughter, Nikki Haney Pike, and a brother, Clifton Dailey.
