Mrs. Shirley Sheppard

Mrs. Shirley Adis Pope Sheppard, age 71, of Franklin passed away Friday November 10, 2017.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sheppard will be conducted Sunday November 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with the Revs. Bobby Robinson and Cecil Davis officiating.

Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Saturday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Sheppard was born February 3, 1946 in Heard County to the late Henry Allen Pope, Sr. and Lema Adis Hill Pope. She was a member of Franklin First Baptist Church.

She worked as a supervisor for CBS records in Carrollton.

She had a deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As one of many children born to Henry Allen Pope and Lema Pope, she had a large extended family of nieces and nephews.

One of her passions was traveling. One of her favorite places was Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. She also loved to walk on the beach. It was said that it did not matter which beach as long as it had sand. She liked to pick up and collect sea shells.

Survivors include her husband, Cameron Sheppard of Franklin; one daughter, Aerica Jones (Brad) of Bowdon; one son, Keith Sheppard (Pam) of Franklin; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanette Moon (Don) of Florida, and Norine Dorrough of Carrollton; one brother, Harold Pope (Patricia) of Franklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
