Mrs. Velma Folds

Mrs. Velma Brown Folds, 80, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Mrs. Folds was born February 23, 1936, in Ranburne, AL, daughter of the late William Russell Brown and Bulah Meeks Brown.

She lived in Hogansville most of her life, was employed for a number of years at the Dixie Division of West Point Pepperell Manufacturing Company and was a member of Spirit Filled Ministries. Mrs. Folds loved flower gardening and enjoyed sharing her flowers with others.

Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, June and Donnie Skipper of Franklin, Lorene Garnto of Hogansville, Paula and Barry Hempstead of Mulberry, FL; son and daughter in-law, Marcus and Mary Ann Folds of Hogansville; brother, Maynard Brown of Newnan; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Hollis Folds; sons, John William Folds and Jerry Hollis Lee Folds; and grandson, Jerry Lee Folds.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jonathan Hannah and the Reverend Terry Smay will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night.
