Mrs. Violet Waldrop

Mrs. Violet Lucille Hayes Waldrop, age 88 of Franklin, Georgia passed away at her home on January 12, 2013.

Funeral services for Mrs. Waldrop were conducted on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Theo Arnett officiating.

The interment followed in the Franklin City Cemetery. Music was provided by Pamela Little. Those serving as pallbearers Duane Waldrop,  Joshua Waldrop, Aaron Garrett, and Jacob Fredrick.

Mrs. Waldrop was born in Shoals, Indiana on May 25, 1924, the daughter of the late Margaret Ethel  Smith Hayes and William Lemuell Hayes. For many years she served as a ward clerk at the Crestview Nursing Home in Vincennes, Indiana. After she moved to Franklin, Georgia she became a faithful member of the Franklin United Methodist Church.

She loved gardening and painting, and visiting with all of her friends at the Heard County Senior Center. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Cara and Brian Garrett of Franklin, GA.; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Curtis and Kathy Waldrop of Houston, TX., Gene and Carolyn Waldrop of Estero, FL., John and Patricia Waldrop of Dallas, TX., and Bart Waldrop of Newnan, GA.; two brothers, George Hayes and Eugene Hayes both of Otwell, IN.; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Waldrop, Jr…
