Mrs. Vivian Milner Callaway

Mrs. Vivian Milner Callaway, 95, of the Corinth Community of Heard County, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at Poplar Creek Assisted Living.

Mrs. Callaway was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Pike County, daughter of the late Emmett and Lucy Manley Milner.

Following World War Two, she moved to Corinth with her late husband John C. (Chad) Callaway, and lived in Corinth for almost 70 years. She was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Homemakers Club and the Green Bough Garden Club in Hogansville.

Mrs. Callaway had a lifelong ministry of growing and arranging flowers for her church and for special occasions, and had the amazing ability to make beautiful floral arrangements year-round using flowers from her gardens.

Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Joan and Danny Smith of Marietta; son and daughter in-law, John and Marcia Callaway of Corinth; grandson, Wesley Pope of Corinth; great-grandson, Cal Pope; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Jones, and brothers, Emory Milner, Harold (Dick) Milner, and Edward Lee Milner.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, at Corinth United Methodist Church. Rev. Paul Dennis and Rev. Harvey Bane will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Corinth United Methodist Church from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corinth United Methodist Church or to the Corinth Cemetery Fund.
