Mrs. Willie Kate Hembree

Mrs. Willie Kate Hornsby Hembree, age 95 of Franklin, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.

Mrs. Hembree was born on September 4, 1920 in Graham, Alabama, the daughter of the late Essie Gillispie Hornsby and Joseph Tom Hornsby. She was a faithful member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

In her early years she worked as a seamstress at the Baby Cloze Manufacturing Company where she enjoyed making beautiful creations that were worn by little children all over the world.

In later years she used another one of her many talents, that of wonderful cook, to make nutritious and delicious meals for the students at Centralhatchee Elementary School. The loving way she treated each child will forever be remembered by each life she touched.

After her retirement from the Heard County School System she enjoyed having extra time to spend with her family and friends. The Godly manner that she lived her life molded the lives of not only her children and grandchildren, but all those with which she came in contact.

She is survived by two daughters Brenda Smith of Douglasville, GA., and Marge Longino (Dwight) of Tallapoosa, GA.; one son Craig Hembree (Cynthia) of Franklin, GA.; three sisters, Eunice Ridley of LaGrange, GA., Eris Walston of Franklin, GA., and Jean Kitchens also of Franklin, GA.; one brother, Etsel Hornsby of Franklin, GA.; grandchildren, Darold Wiggins of Franklin, GA., Dwayne Wiggins of Conyers, GA., Marsha Gentry Roberts of Tallapoosa, GA., and Allen Hembree of Franklin, GA.; and seven great-grandchildren, Brett Wiggins of Franklin, GA, Chaffin Pitts of Salem, NH., Brandon Wiggins of Franklin, GA.; Daulton Wiggins of Franklin, GA., Caitlin Wiggins of Newnan, GA., Dane Kimball of Tallapoosa, GA., and Cole Hembree of Franklin, GA.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Aaron Lincoln Hembree; and two dear siblings, Era Walston Parker and Coy Hornsby.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hembree were conducted on Saturday, February 6, 2016, 2:00 p.m. from the Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Jamie Meeks officiating.  The interment followed in the church cemetery.

Music was provided by the Prince Family Trio. Those serving as pallbearers were Allen Hembree, Brett Wiggins, Brandon Wiggins, Daulton Wiggins, Tyron Kitchens, and Keith Kitchens. Honorary pallbearers were Dane Kimball and Cole Hembree.
