National Infant Immunization Week

(Franklin) — With National Infant Immunization Week beginning April 18th now is the perfect time to get acquainted with the staff at the Heard County Health Department and the services they provide.

Vaccines are offered for children and adults of all ages. The Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program helps provide vaccines to children, up to 18 years of age, whose parents or guardians may not be able to afford them, and helps many more children have a better opportunity of getting their vaccines on time.

The VFC Program has contributed directly to a substantial increase in childhood immunization coverage levels and has made a significant contribution to the elimination of disparities in vaccination coverage among young children.
