National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

(Franklin, GA) — This week around the nation, dispatchers are being honored as a part of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

Since 1994, one week in the month of April has been set aside to recognize the hard works and dedication to the community the 911 dispatchers demonstrate day in and day out.

The staff in Heard County includes Director Chris Acosta (32 years of service), Assistant Director Darlene Shoemake (30 years of service), Dedria Brown (24 years of service), Laura Baker, Tiffany Pollard, Meghan Ingersoll, Martha Kilgore (24 years of service), Patty Britt, Jessica Easterling, Judith Brown, Amber Davis and Tammy Mims.

Local residents are encouraged to thank those who work as dispatchers to celebrate the week.
