Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more personal bios from other new faculty members.

I LOVE teaching!  It’s the best job in the world.

I’ve taught exceptional education and coached competition cheerleading in Troup County for the past 20 years. I’m humbled and honored to have a job that allows me the opportunity to impact young lives.

I consider my students, athletes and co-workers family and look forward to seeing my family grow immensely this year. I feel every day at school should be a worthwhile adventure that prepares students for the real world.

Learning is important and I love to learn new things. This summer I attended a conference at Saint Simons Island to learn strategies and techniques from some of Georgia’s best teachers. This trip sparked excitement!

I can’t wait to put many of the wonderful ideas in place in my new classroom. I look forward to going on virtual field trips, allowing flexible seating, finding time for fun movement, integrating technology and opening a school based business.

I earned degrees in Exceptional Education and Curriculum and Instruction from Columbus State University and LaGrange College.

I took amazing classes at the University of West Georgia. I earned certifications in Early Childhood Education, Health and PE and Special Education. I plan to continue to grow and learn at LaGrange College this year in order to provide the best for my students.

I’m thankful for an amazing family that supports me. My husband Jeff and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary this year. He works at LaGrange College and Coaches Game-On Softball. God blessed us with two beautiful, talented daughters.

Sierra, our oldest will be a senior at LaGrange High School this year. She’s a High School All American Cheerleader and won a Georgia Positive Athlete award this past year.

Our youngest, Alyssa will be a 9th grader at Heard County High School. She plays travel ball with Game On and is excited to be a part of the Lady Braves softball team this year.

In my free time, I love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy being outdoors with my dogs Mallie and Molly. Mallie is a Dalmatian and Molly a Beagle. My daughters keep me busy with their sports and activities. I enjoy participating in school events, sports, and Special Olympics. I also love participating in Cross-fit with my Cross-fit family at Cross-fit of LaGrange.

It is with great fervor I begin my new teaching endeavor at Heard County Middle School.  I look forward to working with my new school family and students and anticipate a year filled with adventure, fun and learning!
