(Temple, GA) — The Heard County Middle School football team bounced back in a huge away after going down 14-0 early in the game at Temple Thursday.

A long touchdown run by Tae Gray sparked the offense in the first half and the Middle Braves scored 20 unanswered points to upend the Tigers 20-14.

Ashton Bonner scored two TD’s as the Middle Braves move to 5-0 on the season. QB Leroy Marsh led the offense on all three scoring drives.

Head coach Dustin Lane was especially pleased by the performance of his offensive line made up of Anthony Graley, Drew Cornelius, Jackson Akins, Landon Holliday, Cody Hand, and Hayden McCosh.

“Our boys up front on the offensive line played their best game of the year,” said Lane after the game. “They were such an important key for us today.”

The Middle Braves will be back at home next week to host Central on eighth grade recognition day. The ceremony will precede the non-conference tilt with the Lions that kicks off at 5:30 PM.
