Pastor Elizabeth Blocker Beck

Pastor Elizabeth Blocker Beck was born the daughter of the late Willie Wiley Blocker and Ester Doby Blocker, on July 15, 1944 in Aiken, South Carolina.

God lovingly called “Sister” Home at 10:55 AM on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Piedmont-Newnan Hospital in Newnan.

She was born July 15, 1944 in Aiken, South Carolina to the late Willie Wiley Blocker and Ester Doby Blocker.

“Sister” was a Licensed Cosmetologist and was employed by the Department of Public Health for the State of Georgia until 1985.

She enjoyed Ministering and praying, talking and debating, traveling and lottery, jewelry shopping and coin collecting, watching her soaps, “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

Pastor Beck accepted Christ as her Savior in 1974. She went on to receive her Doctor of Divinity and opened her Church, The Bible and You Mission, Inc. on August 1, 1980.

The Church was originally located at 770 Tift Avenue in Atlanta. She also had a broadcast on Sunday mornings at Radio Station 1380 WAOK in Atlanta.

In addition to her parents, Pastor Elizabeth Beck was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Beck, Jr.; and brother, Henry Blocker.

Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Louise Beck-Payne (Ronald) of Hogansville, GA; granddaughter, Mikell E. Edwards, College Park, GA; brother, Minister Willie Edward Blocker (Eartha), Aiken, SC; nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The Service was held on Sunday, Oct. 4 at The Bible and You Mission, Heard County, Georgia.

The excellent care of Pastor Beck was provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
