(Franklin, GA) — The HCMS Braves capped off the first perfect season in middle school history in a huge way Thursday afternoon by crushing the Bowdon Red Devils 50-8 in the West Georgia Middle School Conference Championship game played at Heard County Middle School.
As they had done all season long Emory Jones and Carlton White continued to be the catalysts behind and explosive offense. Jones ran for two touchdowns and passed for two touchdowns, one to Kendaz Goode and another to Jaden Moreland.

White scored three touchdowns, all on the ground. Chris Carroll added two extra points while Emory, Goode, and White each converted a two-point play.
Defensively, the Braves continued to stop the opponents on nearly every drive. Brandon Thompson recovered a big fumble for the defense in the second quarter to stop any momentum for the Red Devils.
It was the middle Braves’ first championship since 2009. Several eighth graders may have the opportunity to see extensive playing time on the varsity team next season. Click here to see photos of the game courtesy of Khris Martin.
