Polk leads Braves over Blue Devils

(Franklin) — Junior Chandler Polk had a huge day at the plate Tuesday afternoon as the Braves varsity baseball team cruised to a 15-0 win over the Manchester Blue Devils in four innings.

Polk had a single, double, and home run to go along with seven RBI’s and two runs scored in a game that was played earlier than scheduled to avoid late afternoon thunderstorms.

Several other Brave hitters had big games in the rout including Lee Kay and Dakota Christopher with three hits apiece.

Zack Stephens had two hits and two RBI’s and Tristan Brown doubled and scored two runs. Drew Wulff tripled and had two RBI’s.

On the hill, Keagan Spradlin earned another win scattering two hits and two walks over four innings with six strikeouts.

The Braves will host Landmark Christian on Thursday (5:30 pm) before traveling to Manchester Saturday for a series ending doubleheader with the Devils.

The Braves have won four straight Region 5-AA tilts, outscoring the opponents 62-0 over that span.
