Preliminary Reports Indicate EF-2 Tornado

10177353_10203829709732394_6362357609292646343_n(Peachtree City, GA) — Preliminary reports made available in a public information statement issued by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City yesterday indicate that Monday’s tornado which began in northern Troup County and ended in southern Heard County was an EF-2 tornado with estimated peak winds of 120 mph.

The statement indicates that the 150 yard funnel cloud traveled approximately five or six miles beginning about two miles northeast of Wares Crossroads in Troup County and ending about three miles northwest of Harrisonville in Heard County.

Four to six homes suffered minor damage and fortunately there were no injuries or fatalities.
