Randolph County Investigators Searching for Suspect

(Randolph County, AL/ The Randolph Leader) — Randolph County investigators are searching for the man who burglarized Wedowee South convenience store in the early morning hours Tuesday.

Suspect RCA surveillance camera inside the store captured this photo. The suspect is a black male, approximately 6 feet tall.

An employee opening the store about 4:15 a.m. discovered the cash register had been broken into. When she went to dial 911, the burglar ran past her out the side entrance on the south side of the building.

He circled back around the gas pumps to where his vehicle was parked on the opposite side of the building, near County Road 42. In addition to the cash, he took 180 cartons of cigarettes.

The store (formerly known as Cantrell’s) is on U.S. 431, south of Wedowee, in the Midway area.
