Rebels Squeak by Middle Braves

(Haralson County, GA) – In their second road game of the week, the middle Braves took on the Haralson County rebels on Thursday evening.

In the first inning, the Braves did not fare well at the plate as the Rebels starting pitcher struck out the side. Drew Blair was the Braves starting pitcher for the match-up and pitched six complete innings.

The only Braves’ runs were generated by Ethan Brant, as he knocked a triple to drive in his first RBI of the evening. A few pitches later he took home on a wild pitch. The Braves’ two runs would stand until the home half of the 6th inning.

Blair was cruising to a complete game win until he apparently ran out of steam, allowing three Rebel runs to cross the plate during the Rebels’ last at bat.

The 3-2 loss drops the Braves to 0-2 on the season. In both of the losses, the Braves took a lead going into the final inning only to have it vanish and lost each game by a single run. The Braves have scored 13 runs versus opponents 15 runs on the year.

Weather continued to wreak havoc on the middle Braves schedule Friday as yet another game was washed out by rain. The Braves were scheduled to host the Bremen Blue Devils. The Braves will be back in action at home Tuesday for a match-up with Temple at 4:30.
