7-8 Braves 20, Temple White 0 - Coach Cain Dean and the 7-8 Braves continued to roll Saturday at the Sports Complex winning their fourth consecutive game under foggy conditions over Temple White.
The defense was the story of the game as they shut down the Tiger offense completely in the 20-0 win. Ashton Bonner continued to shine scoring a first quarter touchdown on offense, adding the extra point run, and then snatching an interception later in the quarter.
Jameer Cook scored on a short touchdown run in the second quarter to extend the halftime lead to 13-0. Cook added another 25-yard TD run in the fourth quarter to complete the scoring.
7-8 Brave Captains
Defensively several Braves stepped up and played well in the first half including Mason Bailey and Logan Patterson.
Late in the game Creighton Stevens and Zack Hahn made some quality plays.
The 7-8 Braves will be on the road in Carrollton this Saturday at 11 am to face Carroll County Black.
11-12 Braves 21, Trojan White 0 – Coach Brad Yates and the 11-12 Braves rebounded from a prior loss by shutting out Trojan White 21-0 at the Sports Complex.
The Braves offense drove down the field easily early in the game before a tipped pass was intercepted in the end zone by Marcellious Neal of the Trojans.
The Braves wasted no time responding again on their next drive when Jackson Yates scored on a 1-yard run. Gage Cannon and P.J. Cofield also had big plays in the first half. In the third quarter, the Braves got back on the board once again on a nice Yates TD pass to Tyderius Brewer.
Cofield caught the 2-point pass to extend the lead to 14-0. Cannon also scored the final touchdown and Yates added the extra-point to make the final 21-0.
Dustin Bradley had a big catch in the game and Jonathon Barrett recovered an onside kick. The 11-12 Braves are off this week.
