Reece Walker leads Lady Braves to Tourney Final

Junior Reece Walker scored 24 points to lead the Lady Braves to a 59-32 win over host Haralson County in the semi-finals of the Haralson County Invitational Thursday night.

The girls again started out hot as they had Wednesday night and carried a 32-11 lead at halftime. Jemeka Parks also continued her hot shooting and added 15 points.

The leading scorers for the Rebels were Cierra Champion who had 17 and Caroline Simpson who scored nine points.

The Lady Braves will now face the Central Lions in tomorrow’s championship game at 7:00 p.m. in Tallapoosa. The Lions knocked off Bremen today in the other semi-final 53-30.

The Lions will be a familiar foe for the Braves who have already defeated them twice this year. Even though the Braves came out on top in both games the games were very highly contested so  tomorrow’s match-up will be a challenge for Coach Williams and her squad.

The Braves won by finals of 58-50 (at Heard) and 61-49 (at Central) in the earlier meetings.

The boys team will face Bremen in the 5th place game at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow.
