Registration Deadline Approaching

(Franklin, GA) — The deadline to register to vote in the General Primary is Monday May 11, 2020. This is also the last day to change your name or address.

If you have moved since you last voted, the Elections Office may not have an accurate address for you. This could cause problems on Election Day.

You may also call the Elections and Registration Office during regular office hours Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

If you have not yet registered to vote, you may do so in one of the following ways:

1: At the Elections and Registration Office (located in the Courthouse), a public library, or public assistance center. Please remember social distancing guidelines in public areas.

2: When you renew your driver’s license or State issued ID Card.

3: Using the Secretary of State’s On-Line Voter Registration System. The web site is https://registertovote.sos.ga.gov/GAOLVR   You may also access the site from the “My Voter Page”.

Fellow citizens, our time to vote is here. I hope each of you who are eligible will exercise your right as a citizen to vote in this election. Your voice is important and should be heard. A man once said to me if you don’t vote, you have no right to complain. Well, I hope you vote and further I hope you continue to voice you thoughts and comments to our elected officials.
Regardless of who gets elected I pray our local politicians can all work together for the benefit of our county and each of you. As you vote by mail or at the polls I urge you to select candidates who can hit the ground running and who have some experience in making tough decisions. We all know now is the time when tough decisions and hard work are going to be required of our officials. Let’s vote and keep voicing our opinion of the matters that affect us as Heard County citizens!
