Kate Hendon

(Roanoke, AL) — A Roanoke local will compete on the season premiere of “Master Chef Junior,” a Fox network cooking competition.

Young home cooks between the ages of 8-13 will compete in the Season 7 competition.

Kate Hendon is among the top 24 “most talented young home cooks in America,” says judge and executive producer Gordon Ramsey.

She auditioned for the show in Atlanta, and her signature dish is chicken and veggie stir-fry.

In the 2-hour premiere episode, “Culinary ABC’s,” airing  Tuesday, March 12 (7-9 p.m. CDT) on FOX, the Top 24 must prove they’ve mastered the first meal of the day, breakfast, in a mystery box challenge.

Then, school lunches get a total makeover as contestants are tasked with elevating three classic school lunch dishes into restaurant-quality cuisine according to the show.

Joining Gordon Ramsey and the Top 24 Season 7 cooks are renowned chefs and judges Christina Tosi and Aaron Sanchez.
