Roanoke Police Searching for Armed Robbery Suspect

(Roanoke, AL) — Roanoke police are searching for the suspect who robbed the Roanoke Dollar General store at gunpoint on Wednesday evening of last week.

Chief Adam Melton said the robbery was reported at approximately 6:10 p.m. when a black male entered the store and demanded money from the cashier. He was in the store only a short period of time and fled on foot.

armed-robbery-rob-robber-gun-policeAn off-duty police officer happened to be in the store and chased the robber in the direction of Mulberry Street in the mill village, but he got away.

The suspect was wearing a mask, a dark hoody, jeans, tennis shoes and gloves and was carrying a handgun.

Anyone having information about the robbery is asked to call Roanoke Police Department at (334) 863-2121. A reward is offered for information leading to his arrest.
