(Americus, GA) — On Thursday, October 24, the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving hosted an awards luncheon to honor and recognize all caregiver regional winners throughout the state.

Each region had up to three winners consisting of family, volunteer and paraprofessional caregivers.

The event took place at the Rees Park Economic Development Center in Americus. This was an awards ceremony to name the statewide winners in each of the categories.

The Three Rivers Regional Commission/Area Agency on Aging serves Butts, Carroll, Coweta, Heard, Lamar, Meriwether, Pike, Spalding, Troup and Upson counties.

Three Rivers’ entries were Sylvia June Lawrence, family caregiver of Newnan and Sandy Veach, paraprofessional caregiver of Jackson. Three Rivers Regional Commission was delighted that Sandy Veach was named the state winner in her category.

All of the finalists were true winners in their own right because of their tremendous compassion and service they render on a daily basis as a caregiver.
