The Heard County Sheriff’s Office along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation already made one arrest in the case in late February.

28-year-old Micah Blake Taylor, formerly of Delta, AL and a more recent resident of Heflin, AL was officially charged on Monday, February 22 with Felony Murder.

A Roanoke female, Jenae Marie Dickinson, age 28, has now also been arrested and is facing charges surrounding the murder including one count of being party to the crime and another count of concealing a death.

Lead HCSO Inv. Dan Boswell says a motive in the case is unclear but that Taylor and Dickinson were acquainted with one another.

Taylor was originally jailed in Cleburne County, AL on theft by receiving charges February 4.

Investigators believe the vehicle he was arrested in on February 4, 2021 is the same vehicle used in some way during the commission of the alleged murder that took place sometime between Jan. 31 and the morning of February 1.

Reports indicate the victim had been in possession of the vehicle after it was loaned to her, but the owner later reported it to be stolen — which initially lead to the Taylor’s arrest in Cleburne on Feb. 4.

The owner of the vehicle (a 2004 Ford Van) is believed to have had no role in either of the crimes.

Boswell along with GBI agent Larry Duren are handling the murder investigation.

The area where Trotter’s body was found is on the west side of the small dirt road about 1/2 mile from the Alabama state line.

She was found by hunters traveling on the roadway that morning.

Trotter was allegedly an acquaintance of the suspect and both are believed to have been living at the same residence.

Earlier reports indicated Trotter’s body was found with a rope around her neck and that she had been stabbed in the neck.

Boswell says evidence now indicates the crime occurred in close proximity to where the body was found. Dickenson and Taylor are both currently jailed without bond.
