Special Education records to be Destroyed

(Franklin, GA) — The Heard County School System has announced its intention to destroy special education records of the students born between the years of 1988 and 1994.

The records are no longer needed for education planning purposes and will be destroyed August 2018.

The permanent record of attendance will be maintained at the County Office.

The Heard County School System will make the Special Education records available to the student or parent (with student’s permission) upon request to the school system’s Special Education Records Department.

To request inactive Special Education records call 706-675-3320 or email Jenny Googe @ jennifer.googe@heard.k12.ga.us.

Identification will be required to receive records.
