(Troup County, GA) — Officials with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office issued new information yesterday about the location of the missing teen found Wednesday.
Officials stated that on Wednesday around 7:00 p.m., deputies and investigators were notified by 911 dispatch that missing 15-year-old Ledia King had been located.
According to reports, a citizen was traveling on Hogansville Rd. and noticed a female walking on the side of the road.
The citizen stopped to speak with this person and recognized her as the missing juvenile from LaGrange.
The citizen then drove Ledia to the Hogansville Public Library and contacted Hogansville Police who went to the location and brought her back to the Hogansville Police Department.
At that time Troup County authorities were notified and Ledia was brought to the Sheriff’s Office to be reunited with her parents.
According to Ledia’s mother, they are still unsure of what happened during the nine days she was missing.
Evelyn King told the Lagrange Daily News yesterday that they have no answers on Ledia’s whereabouts since her disappearance, adding that Ledia had been at the hospital the all Wednesday night sleeping.
“We’re just so happy that she was found,” the relieved mother said. “We couldn’t have done it without everyone’s help.”
Evelyn King gave special thanks to Sheriff’s Office personnel, calling them the most phenomenal group of people she has ever met. She specifically credited investigator Shelly Downs and Capt. Mike Caldwell.
“Without them, we would have never found our baby,” she said.
