Tensions Flare at County Meeting (Video)

The Heard County Board of Commissioners met this past Tuesday July 26th for its regular monthly meeting which saw a packed agenda involving a couple of real hot button issues.

On the scheduled agenda were items concerning  annexation in Ephesus, the SPLOST TAX, a 911 Resolution, firefighter grant, and a discussion about the Commissioner Legal Counsel Policy.

Additionally added to the agenda during the amendment section were the topics of a discussion about the Glover Rd. gymnasium and a separate discussion of some public works equipment.

One of the largest crowds at any BOC meeting this year was on hand to  witness several public comments from attending citizens including one read by the son of District 5 Commissioner Karen Eisenhower as well as a much heated debate between Isenhower and Chairperson June Jackson in reference to the legal counsel policy.

In an unprecedented move The Heard Citizen news team was on site with our cameras to catch all the highlights for the citizens of Heard County who were unable to attend.
